“For every barrel of oil produced an average of 3 to 5 barrels of water is consumed”.

A salt water disposal well is a disposal site for water produced as a result of the oil and gas extraction process. Produced water, also referred to as salt water, contains particulate which can cause problems for the pump bringing water into the well. Prior to injection into a salt water disposal well, it is highly beneficial for water filtration to be installed before the pump to prevent damage.

In the world of Salt Water Disposal Wells, protecting the well from intrusion by solids is a key need. Filtering the high solids present in produced and flowback water to <20 micron prior to injection in a high Total Suspended Solids (TSS) water condition has proven to reduce the time between acid cleanings and flowback cleanings.

FSI’s bag filters eliminate the need for backwash and disposal of environmentally suspect liquid waste as salt water is considered a hazardous material. It also offers the flexibility of changing the micron rating by simply changing out the bags. Stainless steel bag filter housings from Filter Sciences offer top-of-the-line filtration. Stocking both 304 and 316 stainless steel.
